After a short time there is "Headset" on the display Now, menu 3-6 is now enabled!
To enable the carkit-function you have to short-circuit the "4" and "5". After a short time, "Car" is shown on the display and the menu 3-7 is enabled!! How to Create a CON folder in Windows

Can you create a folder named con, prn, nul com1? com2? lpt1? etc. in windows
The answer is NO and YES!
NO because create a new folder and try to rename it to any one of the above specified names, you know what happens! In Windows XP the folder name automatically changes back to New Folder no matter you try any number of times.Where as in Windows Vista when you try to rename the file you get an error message The specified device name is invalid.
What is the reason for this Simple, these names represent the internal devices and hence we cannot create folders with the above names.
YES because it is still possible to create these folders using the command prompt.Heres the instructions to create it.
1. Go to command prompt

Sometimes when your USB Stops Working everything stops

Ever wondered all of sudden all your USB ports stop working. USB Drives don't respond , Mouse stops keyboard stops everything stops sometimes and you may end up Reformatting your PC and still not solved..

Just do this and all comes back normally instead of reinstalling or Reformatting

1) Turn off the PC

2) Physically plug out the power cable from the CPU end

3) Plug in the power cable

4) Turn on PC

Why this what happens ?

In switched off mode your computer draws 1-6 watts = £3 a year. It keeps your bios charged so that when you remove the power cable the charges on the mother board disipates. ( a lot of domestic equipment when left pluged in but off consumes power ie washing machines dryers TV etc).

how to upgrade and install RAM

want to save money just to install or upgrade your ram?

It’s my belief that simple, clear text coupled with before assembly, during assembly and after assembly photographs make it possible for just about anyone to assemble a PC successfully. Once you understand the basic computer components and build your first computer, you will have learned a skill that will last a lifetime! You will be able to upgrade your computer or change the configuration easily when your computing needs demand it, and this knowledge can save you thousands of dollars over time.
Whether you are upgrading RAM in an existing system or simply in the process of assembling your own PC kit, I hope that these assembly instructions prove useful.
The process of installing RAM in a new motherboard, or upgrading RAM in an existing computer varies slightly depending on the type of motherboard and the type of RAM you have. I’ll use a fairly common configuration in this example, but please note that your situation may not be exactly as shown or described here.
This description should work well for most types of desktop RAM, but always make sure you follow the guidelines of your computer, motherboard and RAM. There are a lot of varieties of RAM modules on the market, and the key is making sure that you purchase the correct type, capacity and speed for your motherboard. Incompatible RAM may not allow your PC to boot, or it could cause unpredictable performance and unexpected system crashes.
The following points illustrate the vast selection you will have to choose from, again please make sure you purchase the correct RAM module:
  • Types: 168 Pin SDRAM, 184 Pin DDR SDRAM, 240 Pin DDR2 SDRAM, 240 PIN DDR3 SDRAM
  • Capacities: 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4GB, 8GB
  • Speeds: DDR 266 (PC 2100), DDR 333 (PC 2700), DDR 400 (PC 3200), DDR 466 (PC 3700), DDR 500 (PC 4000), DDR2 400 (PC2 3200), DDR2 533 (PC2 4200), DDR2 667 (PC2 5300), DDR2 667 (PC2 5400), DDR2 675 (PC2 5400), DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000), DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), DDR2 1111 (PC2 8888), DDR2 1142 (PC2 9136), DDR2 1150 (PC2 9200), DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600), DDR2 1250 (PC2 10000), DDR2 1300 (PC2 10400), DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500), DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600), DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666), DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), DDR3 1625 (PC3 13000), DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400), DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900), DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000), PC 100, PC 133
Step 1 (5-10 minutes): Prepare Your Workspace

Solid preparation leads to the best results. Even for simple projects like upgrading RAM, it’s wise to prepare thoughtfully.
Step 1a: Collect Your Tools

I wasn’t kidding when I said that anyone can assemble a PC, and it’s even easier if all you are interested in is installing RAM modules. The only “tool” you will need for your project is a screwdriver. In addition to the screw driver, there are a few items from around the house that could be helpful.

Please collect the following items:
  • Small or Medium Sized Phillips Head Screwdriver – if you do not have one available at home, most grocery stores and all hardware stores sell them
  • Flashlight – if you have great lighting, you may not need a flash light. Flashlights can come in handy when working within the computer case because shadows can make it hard to see
  • Scissors or Utility Knife – many of the components come in sealed boxes or plastic clamshells. Having something to open the packaging saves time and ensures you don’t damage the parts contained within
Step 1b: Setup Your Workspace

Establishing a solid workspace will ensure your project is easy and you are comfortable. A poor workspace can lead to frustration, lost parts and longer than necessary assembly times.
Please consider the following guidelines for your workspace as you prepare to upgrade RAM:
  • Large Flat Work Surface – dining room tables work well as do coffee tables. You can even get away with working on a tile or wood floor. You may optionally spread out a sheet or large towel to protect the surface you are working on from the case which will be heavy and have sharp corners. We DO NOT recommend working directly on a carpet because of static electricity, and carpets can make it too easy to lose small parts.
  • Clean Working Environment – since your computer will be open and exposed during most of the assembly process, it is important to keep the area you are working in free of potential contaminants. We DO NOT recommend eating, drinking or smoking anywhere close to your workspace.
  • Sufficient light – it is important for you to be able to see well as you assemble your kit. Make sure to work in an area with good overhead lighting. It is also helpful to have a flash light handy if your overhead light is not bright enough to see well inside the case.
  • Limited Interruptions – even though the assembly process is straight forward, concentration will be required. We recommend that you find time to devote to the assembly process when you will not be distracted by other priorities.
Step 1c: Exercise Caution

Before you begin, please consider the following precautions:
  • Static electricity can destroy delicate computer components
    • Do NOT work on or stand on a CARPET while installing or upgrading RAM
    • ALWAYS touch a grounded metal object to DISCHARGE yourself prior to handling RAM modules
  • Liquids or particles can destroy delicate computer components
    • Do NOT eat, drink or smoke near your workspace
    • Do NOT allow pets or small children to play near your workspace or components
    • ALWAYS wash your hands prior to touching parts
    • ALWAYS work on a clean surface
  • Computer components can cause electrical shock
    • NEVER touch any of the internal components while the computer is plugged in
    • NEVER allow children to touch or play with the computer or components
    • ALWAYS close the computer case completely before plugging the cord into an outlet
Step 2 (25-35 minutes): Install RAM, and/or Upgrade RAM

Now that you have setup your workspace, you are ready to start installing your ram.
Step 2a: Collect Required Components

Please collect the following components: RAM – For example, CORSAIR Value Select 2GB (2x1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 667

How to remove new folder exe or regsvr exe or autorun inf virus Hacking Tutorial

How to remove new folder exe or regsvr exe or autorun inf virus ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to tell you a story, two days back i got affected by this virus very badly as it eat up all my empty hard disk space of around 700 MB .

I was surprised that my most reliable friend Avast, for the first time failed me in this war against viruses but then again avg and bitdiffender also failed against it. This virus is know popularly as regsvr.exe virus, or as new folder.exe virus and most people identify this one by seeing autorun.inf file on their pen drives, But trend micro identified it as WORM_DELF.FKZ. It is spreading mostly using pen drives as the medium.

Well, so here is the story of how i was able to kill the monster and reclaim my hard disk space.

Manual Process of removal

I prefer manual process simply because it gives me option to learn new things in the process.

So let’s start the process off reclaiming the turf that virus took over from us.

1. Cut The Supply Line

a. Search for autorun.inf file. It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option

b. Open the file in notepad and delete everything and save the file.
c. Now change the file status back to read only mode so that the virus could not get access again.
d.
e. Click start->run and type msconfig and click ok
f. Go to startup tab look for regsvr and uncheck the option click OK.
g. Click on Exit without Restart, cause there are still few things we need to do before we can restart the PC.
h. Now go to control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the At1 task listed their.

2. Open The Gates Of Castle

a. Click on start -> run and type gpedit.msc and click Ok.
b.
c. If you are Windows XP Home Edition user you might not have gpedit.msc in that case download and install it from Windows XP Home Edition: gpedit.msc and then follow these steps.

d. Go to users configuration->Administrative templates->system

e. Find “prevent access to registry editing tools” and change the option to disable.
f.
g. Once you do this you have registry access back.
3. Launch The Attack At Heart Of Castle
a. Click on start->run and type regedit and click ok
b. Go to edit->find and start the search for regsvr.exe,
c.
d. Delete all the occurrence of regsvr.exe; remember to take a backup before deleting. KEEP IN MIND regsvr32.exe is not to be deleted. Delete regsvr.exe occurrences only.
e. At one ore two places you will find it after explorer.exe in theses cases only delete the regsvr.exe part and not the whole part. E.g. Shell = “Explorer.exe regsvr.exe” the just delete the regsvr.exe and leave the explorer.exe

4. Seek And Destroy the enemy soldiers, no one should be left behind

a. Click on start->search->for files and folders.
b. Their click all files and folders
c. Type “*.exe” as filename to search for
d. Click on ‘when was it modified ‘ option and select the specify date option
e. Type from date as 1/31/2008 and also type To date as 1/31/2008
f.
g. Now hit search and wait for all the exe’s to show up.
h. Once search is over select all the exe files and shift+delete the files, caution must be taken so that you don’t delete the legitimate exe file that you have installed on 31st January.
i. Also selecting lot of files together might make your computer unresponsive so delete them in small bunches.
j. Also find and delete regsvr.exe, svchost .exe( notice an extra space between the svchost and .exe)

5. Time For Celebrations

1. Now do a cold reboot (ie press the reboot button instead) and you are done.
I hope this information helps you win your own battle against this virus. Soon all anti virus programs will be able to automatically detect and clean this virus. Also i hope Avast finds a way to solve this issues.
As a side note i have found a little back dog( winpatrol ) that used to work perfectly on my old system. It was not their in my new PC, I have installed it again , as I want to stay ahead by forever closing the supply line of these virus. You can download it form Winpatrol website.

Please do reply if it works and u like my Post

Use Windows 7 and Vista For 1 Year Without Activation Tutorials

Use Windows 7 and Vista For 1 Year Without Activation

If all other possible ways to activate Windows has failed, you are left with only one which is to activate windows by phone. What if that also has failed somehow? Here is a nice registry (as well as a command line) trick to postpone Windows activation for 1 year or just to say, use Windows without activating it.

Reset Windows Vista And Windows 7 Activation for 120 days

1. Start Command Prompt. (Press Winkey+R to start Run, type cmd in it and hit enter).
2. Enter the command slmgr –rearm and hit enter.

3. You will be prompted to restart Windows. After restarting, the trial period will be extended for 30 more days.
NOTE : If you are willing to take full advantage (i.e 120 days) perform this trick every 30 days after installation. This trick will work only three times. So, 30days(default) + extended 90(30X3) days makes the extension of 120 days or 4 months.

Reset Windows 7 or Vista Activation For almost 1 year(360 days)

As I mentioned earlier, the slmgr –rearm trick could be used only 3 times. But a registry trick will make it usable for 8 more times i.e (8X30=240days) of Windows use.
1. Open the registry editor in Windows 7 or Vista.(Press Winkey+R to start Run, and then type regedit in it and hit enter).
NOTE : Backup Windows Registry before making changes to it.
2. Go to the following directory using the left pane,
For Windows Vista
                                 HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\SL

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
*HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. Now in the right pane, you will find a DWORD entry named, SkipRearm. Right click on it and press “Modify”. Change the “Value Data” to 1.
4. Restart your computer to apply the changes. That’s all. Now you can perform the previously mentioned(slmgr -rearm) trick 8 more times.
Therefore the total count of the allowed slmgr –rearm trick is 11 which means an extra of 330 days in addition to the default 30 days. So, you get a 360 days of extension for using Windows 7 or Vista without activating it. You may also like to know how to disable or enable the Windows auto-activation feature.
